SELBY Town boss Dave Ricardo has added another young gun from Hull to his ranks hoping it will help his side finish the season on a high.
Ricardo has signed left-sided former Hall Road Rangers teenager Jordan Day, who, along with Robins duo Matty Start and Jamie Forrester, helped Humberside Under-18s to an English Schools FA Inter-County Trophy success with victory over Kent at Cambridge United in midweek.
He will go straight into contention for a place against Worsborough Bridge tomorrow (3pm) as mid-table Selby seek a return to winning ways after the late defeat to Louth last Saturday.
Said Ricardo: "He's a good young player and knows some of the lads so will hopefully settle in well."
Liam Stonehouse and Chris Jackson are back from injury and work commitments respectively.
Said Ricardo: "We need 12 points or more to better last season, and that's the first target.
"But just before the Pontefract game (on January 24) we set an aim of ten wins before the end of the season. We've had four and we should have had another last Saturday at Louth but poor finishing cost us and they scored with the last kick of the game.
"We need six wins from eight now, which will be hard but we have the team capable of doing it.
"There are four that on paper we should win and we need to nick a couple from teams at the top. This game (tomorrow) is one of the winnable games.
"But Worsborough have a lot of games in hand and can go above us if they win them. They're quite a rugged team and defensively sound so it's up to us to break them down."
