THREE points are a must when Tadcaster Albion visit Maltby Main tomorrow, declared manager Paul Marshall.

The Brewers needed a late equaliser from Denny Ingram to salvage a point against Handsworth Parramore last weekend and then lost 3-2 at Bradford Park Avenue in the semi-final of the West Riding County Cup in midweek.

Lewis Clarkson’s two late goals counted for nought as Albion conceded three for the second successive game and Marshall says victory against a Maltby side in 17th in the Northern Counties East League premier division table is not negotiable.

“We have got to win,” he said. “It is a must win game for us.

“We need to bounce back. Everyone else is winning. Cleethorpes have won eight or nine on the bounce and Shaw Lane have won five in a row. They are catching up.

“There is a long way to go. They will drop points and we will drop more but we need to win and we need a clean sheet.

“We have conceded six goals in the last two games. I know we have changed our back four around but they are all just individual errors.”

Marshall has been pleased with the way his squad have shown fight in their last two encounters.

He added: “This team always digs in. That’s a great quality to have. They don’t know when they are beaten.”

But he will again have to chop and change his starting line-up.

Carl Stewart is back from his suspension but now Paddy Miller is starting a three-match ban. Marshall is expecting star striker Josh Greening to be fit after he missed the Bradford defeat.

He said: “We are just having to manage him. The ankle keeps swelling up.”

Nick Thompson and Liam Ormsby are also hoping to be back as Marshall tries to get a game into the pair before the club’s FA Vase quarter-final clash at Highworth Town a week tomorrow.

Selby Town boss Dave Ricardo wants more of the same when the Robins host Winterton in NCEL division one.

It’s been a confidence-boosting week for the Flaxley Road outfit, who won 1-0 at Hall Road Rangers and then put six past struggling Lincoln Moorlands Railway in the second half on Tuesday night - spurred on by a hat-trick from Chris Jackson They meet a Winterton outfit also fighting for their lives towards the foot of the table and Ricardo sees no reason why Selby can’t rack up three consecutive wins.

“They haven’t won away all season so you would be very hopeful,” he said. “They are the same as Lincoln Moorlands Railway in terms of quality but they are a lot fitter and they keep going. They don’t get beaten by many and they beat us at their place early in the season.”

Ricardo added: “We have made a couple of additions that have given us a lift. Chris Dickman has left but Tom Chamberlain has come in and done really well, as has Ashley Hope.”

Elsewhere in division one, Knaresborough Town go to Bottesford Town.

Harrogate Town midfielder Simon Lenighan has joined Conference side Alfreton Town until the end of the season, while former York City winger Craig Nelthorpe and defender Rhys Meynell have gone to Northern Premier Buxton on a month’s loan.

Sebastien Carole has also departed to Bradford Park Avenue as the Wetherby Roaders host Chorley following their win over AFC Fylde a week ago.

Harrogate Railway, thumped 5-1 at Station View by leaders Darlington 1883 last week, play Prescot Cables at home on Monday (kick off 7.45pm) in Evo-Stik first division north. Scarborough Athletic are at Clitheroe tomorrow.
