CIVIL Service showed the form of prospective champions in York Minster Engineering Football League division three with a 12-0 demolition of Selby RSSC.

Connor Larner was impressive, bagging a massive eight-goal haul, while Sean Lonsdale, James Shaw (2) and Wayne McFarlane also scored.

Second-placed South Milford lost ground on the leaders after being held 3-3 by Stamford Bridge. Steven Smith, Nathan Spreckley and Craig Hargreaves were on target for the visitors.

Third-placed Kirkbymoorside are six points behind Civil Service with six games in hand after a 4-1 win at Jorvik Blades after goals from Alex Strickland (2), Danny Butterworth and Martin Charlton. Joe Cox replied.

Fifth-placed Huby United posted a 4-3 win at Rufforth with a Dave Adams a hat-trick and a bullet header from Simon Dodsworth. Lee Bartlett (2) and Graham Wray scored for Rufforth.

Selby Olympia ran out 7-1 winners against Crayke. Andrew Woodall (2), Janos Takacs, Mark Dickinson, Gareth Strain, Steven Frost and Pavel Jankowski bagged the home side’s goals.

In division four, Wetherby Athletic clung on to top spot with a 1-0 win over Wheldrake.

Bubwith kept up the pressure with a 4-3 win over LNER Builders, whose marksmen were Alex Malton, Andrew Hurren and Simon Teale.

Huntington FC beat neighbours Huntington WMC 3-2. Sam Smith, Ashley Innes and Luke Smith struck for Huntington FC, with Jamie Kirby (2) replying.

Heading a reserve ‘A’ goal spree were York RI, who conjured an upset with a 5-4 win at Riccall United.

Danny Wood and Brodie Doherty scored a brace each, with Danny Cates adding the decisive fifth. Gary Chapman (2), Martin Howson and Mike Braithwaite hit the target for Riccall.

Wigginton took a 2-0 lead at home to Tadcaster Magnets through James Sutton and Danny Lamb, but were pegged to 2-2 shortly after the interval.

Tom Jackson restored Wiggy’s lead after 62 minutes but Magnets rallied for another leveller.

Ten minutes from time, Craig Harrison’s spectacular 18-yard strike won it for the hosts.

Defending champions Dunnington continue to stalk the leaders after goals from Samson Wildwood, Danny Askin and Paul Crangle gave them a 3-1 win over Old Malton.
