THE top three sides in York Minster Engineering Football League division one all tasted victory.

Leaders F1 Racing maintained the pace after a 3-0 success at Total Sports with goals for Neil Yeowart, Jason McCloud and Adam Tiffany.

An own goal and a Scott Preston effort gave second-placed Malton & Norton a 2-1 victory against Hemingbrough United, for whom Luke Zacharenko was on target.

Goals were flowing at Brooklyn, who continued their promotion quest with a 9-3 success over Cliffe. Tom Hogg and Luke Durham had given Cliffe a 2-1 lead early on but, despite a second goal from Durham, the visitors came off a clear second best.

David Thompson (3), Marcus Godsell (2), Mikey Brown (2), Andrew Phillips and Andrew Metcalfe found the net for Brooklyn.

An Andy Walker goal after 75 minutes was enough to move Tockwith up to fourth place as they defeated Hamilton Panthers 1-0.

Pocklington and Heslington shared the points following a 1-1 draw.

In division two, Rawcliffe moved five points clear of Strensall after a 5-1 success at Thorpe United.

Simon Wilson and Will Pritchard bagged a brace apiece, with Johnny Moss adding the fifth.

Strensall lost ground on their rivals after a thrilling game ended in a 6-4 loss to promotion chasing Sporting Knavesmire. James Windle (2), Charlie Clamp (2), Andrew Simpson and Alastair Brown were on target for Knavesmire. Strensall’s marksmen were Danny Mason, from the penalty spot, Liam Wingfield, Joe Davidson and Lee Ryan.

Chris Simpson hit a double hat- trick to take his season’s tally in the league to 14 as Ouseburn United defeated Wilberfoss 8-0. Josh Forster struck twice to complete the haul.
