WIGGINTON Grasshoppers hammered Hemingbrough 24-2 in the top flight of the York Sunday Morning Football League.

Michael Clancy scored five goals for the division one leaders and there were four apiece for Tom Metcalfe, Steve Jarvis and Jamie Green.

Jamie Willstrop netted a hat-trick, Tom Coates got two, and Jack Thompson and Tom Nicholson also got on the scoresheet.

Dunnington were 6-3 winners over Bubwith White Swan.

Josh Tattersall, Jonny Andrew, Sam Wildwood, Luke Bass, Ross Wilkinson and an own goal made up second-placed Dunnington’s haul.

Mike Hemmingway, Graham Stewart and Si Houlder replied for Bubwith.

Tom Wheatland and Sam Thompson both bagged a brace for table-topping York Nomads in division two as they won 6-3 at Bishopthorpe.

James Edmund and Mike Hattee also found the net.

Sam Goodhall's brace and an own goal comprised Bishopthorpe’s response.

With second-placed Marcia Grey having no game, Snaith took advantage of the chance to join their rivals on 12 points.

A 10-1 win at home to Drax saw Brad Hall notch four times and Rob Tate bag a hat-trick. Also on the scoresheet were Tom Wright, Joe Lock and Jack Stocks.

NUR also lie level on points with Sanith and Marcia Grey after a 3-2 win over York RI.

Rob Constable (2) and Danny Cotton hit the decisive goals in the first half before goalkeeper Jamie Ward came to NUR’s rescue with a late penalty save.

Regular marksman Kyle Wilks struck from 18 yards to send Brayton into the lead after half an hour against Hambleton but ,within two minutes, the away side were level.

A 41st-minute strike sent Hambleton in 2-1 ahead at half-time before Wilks added his second to level the match in the 58th minute.

In a fairly even match, it was Hambleton’s superior finishing that made the difference as three goals in the last half hour gave them a 5-2 triumph.

Cliffe retained their lead at the top of division three after a convincing 10-0 demolition of Selby RSSC.

Aaron Lees, Nathan Parker and Kevin Taylor picked up two apiece for the away side, with Kieran Dinsdale, Tom Hogg, Dan Richardson and Luke Durham also hitting the target.

Marcia Bishopthorpe sit second following their 3-0 defeat of Wentworth.

Shaun Gandy and Daniel Baxter struck for Thorpe United as they picked up a point from a 2-2 home draw with York Medics.

Ben Lowe got York Phoenix off to a flying start in their clash with Haxby, slotting home from the penalty spot early in the game.

Haxby equalised from Matt Boggan before Steve Lorains hit a 25-yard piledriver to restore Phoenix’s lead.

After the break, Ben Lowe notched his second before player-manager Chris Moffatt completed the scoring in a 4-1 victory for the home side.

The draw has been made for the York Sunday Morning League Senior Challenge Trophy.

The ties, to be played on Sunday, January 11, at 10.30am, are: Station or Snaith v Dunnington, Hounds v Wigginton Grasshoppers, Marcia Grey v Haxby Utd and Britannia Tadcaster v NUR.
