DRINGHOUSES sprang a surprise in York Minster Engineering Football League reserve 'A' as they came from 2-1 down to register a 6-2 win over leaders Wigginton Grasshoppers.

Wiggy 16-year-old Sam Jeffery had twice put the hosts in front with goals either side of half-time, the second of which was a stunning 20-yard left-footed volley.

However, with just 30 minutes to play Houses turned the game on its head.

On target for the successful side were Kris Douglass (2), Dan Kitson, Joe Rawcliffe, Michael O'Shaughnnessy and Joe Connor.

Fourth-placed York RI also tasted defeat at home, succumbing to a 4-3 loss to Copmanthorpe.
