GOALS were to the fore in the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division where six games amassed 40 strikes between them.

Most profitable outcome was Riccall United’s 6-4 win at York RI, a success that took them to the top of the table.

Gary Lumley and Ian Beckram each scored twice, with Gary Collier and Wayne Brook netting Riccall’s other goals.

The highest individual team tally was that of Dunnington.

They demolished basement side Easingwold Town 10-0 led by hat-tricks apiece for Callum Richardson and James Willmoth. Scott Sullivan, Robert Chipps, Dan Andrew and player-manager Matthew Wain completed the rout.

For the second successive week Old Malton St Mary’s were involved in 4-4 draw, this time at Copmanthorpe.

Ben Sheehan, Robin Bedford, Chris Story and Danny Leach were on target for the home side but their haul was matched by efforts from Tom Fenwick (2), Simon Cooke and Danny Fogg.

A similar score-line was seen at Dringhouses where they shared the spoils with Huntington Rovers.

Chris Dyson hit a first half brace for Rovers but could not stop Rovers trailing 3-2 at the break. James Edmond and Gary Mitchinson completed Huntington’s tally.

Andrew Bilton and George Middleton gave Osbaldwick a comfortable lead at home to Terrington, but a late Matty Bower goal gave the home side a nervous final few minutes before they completed a 2-1 triumph.

Mark Benton’s first goal of the season gave Harrison’s Signs a 1-0 win over Poppleton United.

Malton and Norton top division one after a 6-1 win at York St John.

Simon Reeves grabbed two goals, followed by efforts from Kingsley Daffern, Matty Reeves, Scott Preston and Steve Twamley. Angus Jones replied.

Second-placed F1 Racing made it four straight wins with a 4-2 success over Total Sports United.

F1 led 1-0 at half-time through Jason McCleod’s debut goal and went further ahead after the break with goals from George Trifan and Chris Dempsey. Total Sports pulled a goal back from the penalty spot and then grabbed a second, but McLeod hit his second to secure the win.

Marcus Godsell (2) and Andy Phillips were on target as Brooklyn went three up at Cliffe. Kevin Taylor gave Cliffe a lifeline after the break but it was the away side who completed a 5-1 win through Andrew Metcalfe and Ryan Boyd.
