SELBY TOWN manager Dave Ricardo has urged his side to “kick on” as they look to build on a four-match unbeaten run against Hallam in Northern Counties East League division one.

The Robins saw off Knaresborough Town 4-2 in midweek, thanks to a Danny Gray hat-trick, and they now welcome to Flaxley Road a struggling outfit that have not picked up a point from their first 11 games.

“It was a good result in midweek and it is just a case of continuing that,” Ricardo said.

“Something that has arisen in the last four or five games is that there are definite signs of team spirit and team ethic. You can’t get that straight away, especially when you have a squad of many players.

“We are unbeaten in two league games and two cup games and we just need to kick on.

“We have got one or two games in hand on some. Win those and it is all to play for.”

Ricardo is hoping to entice former Selby goalkeeper Arran Reid back to the club while he is also hoping to bring in Ossett Town midfielder Grant Allott.

He will be without Greg Archer and Danny Bunch this weekend but Ryan Robinson is expected to return to the squad.

Elsewhere, Knaresborough, now with only one win in six outings, go to Lincoln Moorlands Railway in NCEL division one, while, in Conference North, Harrogate Town visit Worcester City.

Harrogate Railway Athletic entertain high-flying Evo-Stik League division one north rivals Spennymoor Town in the preliminary round of the FA Trophy, while, in division one north, Scarborough Athletic will be looking to maintain their excellent home form when potential promotion rivals Farsley Celtic visit the coast.

The Seadogs enjoyed late knockout cheer in midweek as Nathan Evans equalised in the last minute of normal time to give them a 1-1 draw in the Doodson Sport League Cup against Brigg Town before they won 3-1 in the penalty shoot-out.
