WASTEFUL York City Ladies missed a host of chances and had to settle for a goal-less draw against Tynedale.

During the first half, Jess Barnes, Josie Hewson and Hannah Buck peppered the Tynedale box with a series of crosses but Megan Bramham headed over and fired another opportunity wide with her left foot.

There were also two further strikes from Bramham and a Hewson effort that failed to find the net before the break.

In the second half, good defensive work by girl-of-the-game Hewson, Abbi Webster, Barnes and Sara Renfrew ensured keeper Chloe Precious was enjoying a quiet afternoon before substitute Katie Duckworth missed a 90th-minute sitter for the Minster ladies, shooting over an open goal from five yards.

Tynedale almost capitalised on their opponents’ profligacy when they broke forward and hit the crossbar during six minutes of stoppage time.
