WIGGINTON Grasshoppers tore apart Church Fenton White Horse’s 100 per cent record with a 6-0 victory in the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division.

After an even start, Harry McMillan’s close range effort was cleared to Jamie Willstrop, who guided the ball home from 20 yards.

The scoreline remained unchanged until the second half, when Hoppers took control. Tiplady was felled in the penalty area and Luke Roberts dispatched the resulting penalty after 57 minutes.

Then Luke Hall added a delightful finish to mark his return to the club.

Tiplady then stole the show with a 15-minute hat-trick to take his tally to nine goals in five games.

It was business as usual for the other two sides boasting 100 per cent records.

Reigning champions Old Malton St Mary’s gained a convincing 5-1 win at Poppleton, while goals from Adam Field (2) and Joseph Smyth gave Tadcaster Magnets a 3-0 win over Harrisons Signs.

A hat-trick from Wayne Brook and a Chris Jackson strike gave third-placed Riccall the points as they defeated Terrington 4-2.

Dunnington butchered Easingwold Town 9-0, largely thanks to hat-tricks from Josh Hutchinson and Scott Sullivan. Robert Chipps, Jimmy Wilmoth and an own goal completed the Dunnington haul.

Huntington Rovers’ revival continued with a 6-3 triumph over York RI.

Lee Bunce gave Rovers the lead before Chris Dyson hit an exquisite strike to double the advantage.

Neale Holmes added a third with a well taken free-kick before Mike MacKenzie pulled one back for RI.

A Jon James penalty was followed by a strike from Leigh Dutton to make it 4-2.

Substitute Gary Newton then struck twice for Rovers to establish an insurmountable lead before MacKenzie hit a cracker in the dying minutes.
