SELBY Town are reeling from a triple leg break suffered by in-form goalkeeper Mark Wilberforce.

The former Leeds United, North Ferriby United and Bridlington Town shot-stopper suffered the injury in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Penistone Church and will be out for four to five months.

The Robins won their opening two Northern Counties East League division one games with Wilberforce keeping clean sheets, with the Penistone success following a 1-0 win at AFC Mansfield.

Manager Dave Ricardo handed the gloves to youngster Ollie Thane for last night’s League Cup first round clash with Louth Town, but is aiming to bring in another senior keeper.

“He is out of hospital and there are no pins or plates, but he will be out for four or five months,” said Ricardo.

“It happened when we were 1-0 up. He came out for a back pass and there was a collision. He got the ball but a defender and their striker came through and he took the brunt of it.”
