PICKERING Town broke through the 100 goals barrier with a 4-2 win at Staveley Miners Welfare in the Northern Counties East League premier division.

The Pikes, who are the division’s top scorers with 103 goals, moved up to fifth in the table after snatching the points with two goals in the final 11 minutes.

York City youngster Harry Coates put the visitors in front on nine minutes and Nathan Cook added a second seven minutes after the break.

However, Staveley hit back with Oli Ryan’s 62nd-minute goal and Josh Scully’s 77th-minute penalty.

Joe Danby nudged the Pikes back in front on 79 minutes and Sam Calvert made sure of the points eight minutes from time.

Leaders Tadcaster Albion and challengers Barton Town Old Boys matched each other stride for stride with 5-0 wins.

The Brewers trounced hosts Nostell Miners Welfare, while Barton thumped visitors Liversedge to remain six points behind with four games in hand.

Albion led 1-0 at half-time after a Danny Critchlow strike in the 21st minute and Calum Ward doubled the lead from the penalty spot nine minutes into the second half.

Nick Thompson got the third on 73 minutes before Critchlow’s second in the 85th minute and Ward struck again two minutes later.

Selby Town twice came from behind to beat division one basement side Louth at Flaxley Road.

The visitors took the lead through Lee Croft in the tenth minute, but Robins striker Danny Gray levelled from the penalty spot five minutes later. Again Louth forged ahead through Paul Jones in the 18th minute, but a superb 30th-minute finish from Tom Owen made it 2-2.

In the second half, Gray bagged his second goal on 67 minutes and Steve Lyon rounded off the scoring on 76 minutes.

The win moved Selby up to tenth in the table, one place ahead of Knaresborough Town, who were without a fixture.

Eighth-placed Harrogate Town drew 2-2 at fifth-placed Brackley Town in Conference North.

Adam Nowakowski gave the visitors the perfect start with a goal in the second minute, but Brackley equalised six minutes later. Dominic Rowe restored Harrogate’s lead on 33 minutes, but the hosts sealed a point with a 57th minute goal.

Harrogate Railway Athletic needed a Fatlum Ibrahimi leveller two minutes from time to salvage a 2-2 draw with Radcliffe Borough in Evo-Stik League division one north.

Nathan Cartman put the Station View hosts in front on 54 minutes, but Borough bounced back with goals from James Mullineux and Elliot Rokka before Ibrahimi struck.

Sixth-placed Scarborough won 2-1 at Rainworth Miners Welfare in division one south. Gary Bradshaw’s penalty gave the visitors the lead in the 12th minute and, although Ashley Longstaff equalised on 36 minutes, Ryan Williams bagged the winner on 58 minutes.
