Cricket countdown begins at Hemingbrough

Hemingbrough Cricket Club are starting preparations for the 2012 season by holding nets and coaching for under-11 and U13 players at Barlby Sports Hall on Mondays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

The seniors – who play in the HPH York Vale League – will have their nets at the same venue on the same night from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

The club are looking for new players at all ages and anyone interested should attend the net sessions or phone club secretary Dave Milburn on 01757 288570.

At the club’s recent annual general meeting, chairman John Waterhouse stepped down and was elected as a life member.

The new chairman is Mark Scarr, with John Waterhouse as his vice-chairman.

Matty Clark will continue as first-team captain, with Gary Lister leading the second team.
