Bishopthorpe II beat the clock to ease their HPH York Vale League division three worries on a rain-hit day.
Fellow strugglers Hemingbrough II finished their innings at 7pm after a series of rain delays on 122-9, veteran John Latimer taking 5-37.
With more bad weather and bad light threatening, Bishopthorpe set about their target like men possessed as Ben Smith and Mike Dale put on 50 in four overs. Dale was run out for 30 but skipper Smith ploughed on to an unbeaten 82 as Bishops won by nine wickets in 13.1 overs.
Leaders Hirst Courtney thrashed nearest rivals Woodhouse Grange by 179 runs with Sam Dunn and Craig Lawson both scoring 71 despite the best efforts of Paul Townsley (5-45). Dunn then grabbed 5-10 as Grange were bowled out for 48.
Thorpe Willoughby closed the gap on Grange by beating Welton & Brough by two wickets with a couple of balls to spare, Danny Crockford’s 42 giving them the edge.
John Littlewood struck an unbeaten 85 as Acomb thrashed Goole by ten wickets.
Dean Tyler took 5-44 as Stillingfleet were bowled out for 128 by Thixendale whose reply stood at 14-0 when the teams called it a day.
Hemingbrough look nailed on for the division one crown after a comfortable win against third-placed Bishopthorpe, who posted 157-9, Ian Holmes top scoring with 43. Hemingbrough lost two wickets in three balls to Charlie Featherstone, but Matt Milburn (69no) and Matt Clark (53) set Brough on their way to a seven-wicket win.
North Cave remain the only serious challengers to Hemingbrough after beating Burn by two wickets, Rob Page (54no) the match-winner.
Shaun Houlton (52) and Andrew Winn (49) led Barmby Moor to victory against Wheldrake despite the best efforts of Matt Mellor (57no).
University of York Staff eased their relegation worries by recovering from 23-4 to overhaul Clifton Alliance’s 138 thanks to an unbeaten 74 by Adil Sadiq.
Matthew Howden hit 65 in Copmanthorpe’s 176-8 before rain saw their game with Heworth abandoned.
In division two, Kelfield’s Phil Smith put on a stunning display of hitting against Selby. He smashed an unbeaten 150, which included nine sixes, as the villagers rattled up 271-4.
He then took three wickets but his efforts were in vain as the match was abandoned with Selby on 102-3.
Parag Mohite hit 50 from 24 balls to guide Askham Bryan to an easy victory against winless North Duffield.
Rich Grimes had time to take 6-31 for Stockton & Hopgrove against Melbourne before the rains came.
Malton & Old Malton took another stride towards the division four title by seeing off Burton Salmon who collapsed spectacularly.
Ishbad Buxton hit 78 in a total of 137 but the last seven Salmon wickets fell for just 11 runs.

Phil Smith (Kelfield) may find the award some compensation after his 150 not out and 3-51 against Selby was thwarted by the weather.
