THORPE Willoughby CC players Martin Cooke, Lewis Smith, Ross Powell, and Andy McEvoy raised over £1,500 for cancer charities last weekend when completing a 100k cycle ride from Manchester to Leeds.
The quartet, who recently helped Thorpe Willoughby win the York Vale Cricket League division three title, set off from Heaton Park, Manchester on a journey over the Pennines into Leeds via Ilkley.
They were supported by Martin’s father John Cooke, also a senior player at the club, and team-mate Steve Jackson who transported the riders to Manchester for an 8am start.
