GUTSY Hemingbrough roared into the final of the Guy Mitchell Cup final with a stunning bowling display at Fulfordgate.

Overnight rain left the wicket at School Lane damp and the ’Brough bowlers cashed in as the home side were rolled over for just 41.

Main beneficiaries were Paul Van Dijk with 4-10 in ten overs and Aaron Marshall (3-10).

Hemingbrough knocked the runs off in 13.4 overs, Alan Baldock taking the only two wickets to fall just before the heavens opened.

In the other semi-final, Hirst Courtney reached 73-1 in 17.4 overs against Kelfield when rain stopped play.

On Sunday, Bishopthorpe will meet Stockton & Hopgrove in the HPH Cup final at Heworth (2pm) in a repeat of last Saturday’s division one fixture which was won by Bishopthorpe.

The umpires for the HPH final will be Jim Brannigan and Allan Featherstone.
