Winning start for York Cricket Club

YORK Cricket Club made a successful start to their defence of the Oxbridge ECB Yorkshire County Premier League title.

Duncan Snell top scored with an unbeaten 149 in York's 351-2 from their 55 overs against Rotherham. Simon Mason made 128 and Daniel Wilson was out for 67.

Rotherham reached 247-5 in their reply, with Yorkshire's Simon Guy making 119no.

Nick Kay took 3-72 from his 16 overs, with Alex Renton and Neil Laidlaw taking the other wickets to fall.
