Knockout home incentive for York Cricket Club

YORK Cricket Club have been handed a bye in round one of the Solly Sports Yorkshire League Knockout Cup.
In the quarter-finals, the Clifton Parkers will host the winners of the first-round clash between Rotherham Town and Doncaster Town.
Holders Yorkshire Academy will open their defence of the trophy at home to Hull in round one on May 20.
The last eight ties will be held on June 17, with the semi-finals on July 8 and the final on August 5, at a venue yet to be confirmed.
Round 1 draw: Harrogate v Sheffield Collegiate, Appleby Frodingham v Scarborough, Barnsley v Cleethorpes, Sheffield United v Castleford, Driffield – bye, Yorkshire Academy v Hull, York – bye, Rotherham Town v Doncaster Town.
Quarter-final draw: Harrogate or Sheffield Collegiate v Appleby Frodingham or Scarborough, Barnsley or Cleethorpes v Sheffield United or Castleford, Driffield v Yorkshire Academy or Hull, York v Rotherham Town or Doncaster Town.
The qualifying round of the Yorkshire League T20 will be held on Sunday, June 10.
York will play at Clifton Park in Group ‘D’, taking on Harrogate before playing the winners of Yorkshire Academy and Scarborough for a place in the finals day on July 15.
The winners of the finals day competition will represent the league in an area final in Lincolnshire on August 5.
Meanwhile, the league season gets under way on Saturday, April 21, with York opening their title defence at home to Sheffield Collegiate.
The final round of games will be held on Saturday, September 8.
