PROLIFIC York Cricket Club opener Dan Wilson has written his name into the Oxbridge Yorkshire ECB County Premier League record books.
The Australian star top-scored with 67 in York’s nine-wicket victory over Harrogate to pass Andrew Bourke’s 2003 record of 1,421 runs in a season.
Wilson’s tally now stands at 1,446 with two games of the campaign remaining – starting with Saturday’s title-decider at home to Yorkshire Academy.
York still lead the table by three points after thrashing Harrogate, as the Academy routed Appleby Frodingham.
Harrogate were bowled out for 134 after winning the toss and electing to bat at Clifton Park yesterday.
Wilson demonstrated his all-round ability by taking 4-31 in 6.3 overs of off-spin, while seamer Tom Bartram claimed 4-36.
Neil Laidlaw took the other two Harrogate wickets, while Gate’s Dan Allen made 61.
Wilson then set about the Harrogate attack, making 67 at a run-a-ball including ten boundaries before he was out with the score on 93.
Duncan Snell was 37 not out and Simon Mason unbeaten on 22.
