YORKSHIRE Academy moved level on points with leaders York at the top of the Hunters ECB Yorkshire Premier League North table thanks to a five-wicket win at home to Clifton Alliance.

Eddie Barnes finished with 6-35 as the visitors were bowled out for 126, with skipper Scott Hopkinson (45) their top scorer for the third week in a row.

Harry Brook (37) got the reply off to a bright start, but the home side did not have things all their own way, losing five wickets including skipper Jordan Thompson (33) before reaching the target.

Tom Friend scored an unbeaten 88 off 72 balls for York as they chased down 127 inside 22 overs to beat Scarborough at Shipton Road.

Earlier, Alex Carrie had made 40 for the visitors who finished nine wickets down, preventing the hosts collecting maximum points despite three wickets each from Kyle Brockley (3-32) and Tom Pringle (3-18).

The weather prevented Harrogate from keeping pace with the top two as only 22 overs were possible at St George’s Road.

Visitors Hull looked to be in trouble at 95-6, with George Ross (3-14) picking up three wickets for the second week in a row before rain brought a premature end to proceedings.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge’s fourth win in a row did nothing to ease bottom side Easingwold’s plight.

Hamid Khan (68) top scored for the visitors who reached 200-7, Jordan Grose taking 3-50.

In reply, opener Louis Foxton made 31 before an unbroken stand of 137 between Adam Fisher 47no and Rob Pinder (74no) saw the hosts romp home, scoring at eight runs an over to seal a comprehensive victory

Ryan McKendry had a day to remember for Stamford Bridge as they overcame Driffield Town at Low Catton Road.

Three wickets for 19 helped dismiss the visitors for 160, Ben Kohler-Cadmore (41) the leading scorer in a line-up which also contained his brother Tom, who moved to the club having signed for Yorkshire CCC last week.

McKendry (66) then struck his second successive half-century and Donovan Sinclair a useful 30, as the hosts went on to win by four wickets.

Woodhouse Grange recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this season as they beat visitors Acomb by six wickets.

Joe Dale (36) and Will Thurgate (33) both reached 30 but neither was able to go on and, with Josh Jackson taking 3-42, the away side were bowled out for 138.

The home side then eased to a comfortable victory thanks largely to Nathan Saltmer (48) who fell just short of his half-century.
