YORK Cricket Club booked a place in the Regional Final of the Royal London Club Championship after a convincing 88 run victory over North East Premier League champions Chester-le-Street at Shipton Road.

?A century from Duncan Snell (132) and 58 from Adam McAuley helped the home side to score 308 from their 45 overs; the pair adding 140 for the second wicket of 21 overs. There were two wickets each for Peter McDermott (2-29) and young leg-spinner Tom Spearman (2-40) before Tom Pringle wrapped up the victory (3-36).

York, who are the only remaining representatives from Yorkshire Premier League North, will now visit reigning RLC Championship holders South Northumberland on June 25.

Meanwhile, in the Rudgate Cup, last season’s semifinalists Woodhouse Grange lost by 126 runs against Harrogate at St George’s Road.

George Ross was in devastating form for Harrogate hitting 140 off only 115 balls.

His partnerships of 184 for the first wicket with Jonathan Tattersall (92) and 110 with Kallen Bond (92) for the second, helped his team reach 382-5.

Grange skipper Andrew Bilton (117) replied with a quick-fire century of his own off 99 balls but Harry Stothard picked up 3-31, including the wicket of Bilton, to ensure the visitors fell well short.

?The match between reigning Yorkshire champions Wakefield Thornes and cup holders Yorkshire Academy ended in a two wicket win for the Yorkshire League North side.

Hosts Wakefield made 198-8 with Faisal Irfan top scoring on 45 supported by Tom Marsden (35) and Joe Cook (30).

Academy captain Jordan Thompson played the day’s stand out innings - his unbeaten ‘run-a-ball’ 75 taking his side to victory with three overs to spare.

?Wickersley Old Village proved too strong for Scarborough.

Ifikhar Afzal (4-33) and Umaid Asif (4-24) combined to bowl out the visitors for just 82. Only Darren Mills (20) and Ben Elvidge (18) reached double figures.

Wickersley skipper Tom Knight finished on 41 not out as his side reached their target off 17 overs for the loss of four wickets, two of which fell to Bradley Scott (2-18).

?The all-Hunters ECB Yorkshire Premier League North tie between York and Sheriff Hutton Bridge has been carried over to June 18 due to York’s participation in the Royal London Club Championship.

The other all Yorkshire Premier League North tie between Stamford Bridge and Acomb was conceded byAcomb.

?The quarterfinals for the Rudgate Cup, will be played on Sunday July 2.

The fixtures are Treeton v Harrogate, Sheffield Collegiate v Yorkshire Academy, Appleby Frodingham v Wickersley Old Village, and York or Sheriff Hutton Bridge v Stamford Bridge.
