YORK CC boast the only 100% record in Hunters ECB Yorkshire Premier League North after a 31 run victory over Sheriff Hutton Bridge at Clifton Park.

The home side’s total of 236-8 was built around a century from Duncan Snell (128) who batted almost the entire innings despite the efforts of overseas debutant Sam Rainbird (3-57) and Karl Carver (3-44).

Robert Pinder (56) and Oliver Grayson (34) looked to have put Bridge on course for victory at 130-2 but the experienced spin pairing of Daniel Woods (6-36) and Tom Pringle (3-57) turned the match back in York's favour.

Acomb made it two wins out of two with a three wicket victory over Easingwold at Back Lane.

Matthew Dale (92) and Tom Neal (51no) starred in an impressive chase as they overcame Easingwold’s total of 270-4 despite four wickets from Stephen Piercy (4-75).

Earlier, Kyle Waite (96) just missed out on a century for Easingwold but shared stands of 93 with Hamid Khan (49) and 110 with Matthew Turnbull (75no).

Reigning champions Harrogate showed some of the fighting spirit that won them the title last season as they fought back from 12-4 to come out on top at home to Stamford Bridge.

Tom Geeson-Brown took 4-26 as Bridge were bowled out for 161, Dominic Rhodes top scoring on 49.

It looked as though that might be a winning total when the hosts were in trouble early on but Josh Atkinson (81) led the recovery with help from Edward Wilson (32) as Harrogate got home with a couple of wickets in hand.

Harry Brook scored a magnificent 178 as Yorkshire Academy continued their winning start to the season with a comprehensive 120 runs victory at Woodhouse Grange.

The opener’s effort, which came off only 135 balls, eclipsed the previous league record of 120 held by Sam Drury for Driffield Town against Sheriff Hutton Bridge, and was the key to a formidable total of 303-9 by the visitors in which Josh Jackson took 3-81 in support of a battling all-round performance from Steve Burdett who took 4-78 before making and unbeaten 68 in the hosts reply of 183-8.

Clifton Alliance bounced back from the disappointment of last week’s narrow defeat to record their first victory in the top flight - beating Hull by four wickets despite a century form Chris Grey (110) and 70 from Andrew Simpson who shared a stand of 164 for the second wicket in the home side’s total of 238-5.

Australian recruit Jack Beath spearheaded Clifton’s response with 84 before John Gilham steered them home with an unbeaten 55.

Scarborough’s Ben Elvidge (107) continued his excellent early season form as the hosts scored 248-7 against Driffield Town at North Marine Road, Theo Smith (50) also contributing a half-century whilst Jamie Hopper picked up 4-54 for Driffield Town.

Grant Halder (54no) ended unbeaten as the visitors closed on 190-9 to secure their first points of the season.
