WOODHOUSE Grange will be back on the trophy trail on Sunday afternoon when they entertain Yorkshire Academy in the semifinal of Yorkshire Premier League's knockout competition, the JP Plant Hire 50 Over Cup.

Played in coloured clothing with a pink ball, the competition involves all 24 teams in the ECB Yorkshire Premier North and South leagues.

Home wins over Acomb and favourites, York, took Woodhouse Grange to South Yorkshire and a convincing nine-wicket success over a Rotherham Town side that contained former England fast bowler, Sajid Mahmood, setting up Sunday's exciting semi-final at home to Yorkshire Academy.

Yorkshire Academy will parade the cream of the county's young talent but Woodhouse will be looking to avenge last week's seven wicket defeat in the league.

Sunday cup cricket has become a mainstay of life at Woodhouse Grange in recent years with runs to seven Lords finals in the National Village competition. After the re-organisation of Yorkshire's club cricket structure in the winter, entry to the National Village is now denied to Woodhouse as they now play in an ECB Premier League.
