YORK Cricket Club’s bid to play catch-up in the Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County Premier League title race was thwarted by the wet weather.
The Clifton Park club’s home game against Driffield Town was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Saturday, as were all the other scheduled league fixtures.
Captain Daniel Woods and his men will be hoping for better weather today as they host Sheffield United in the league at noon.
Yesterday, they beat Shepley by 46 runs in a rain-affected Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy tie.
Having totalled 152-8 from 30 overs, York then restricted their visitors to 107-9.
