Yorkshire bowler Richard Pyrah takes off in an unsuccessful appeal against Nottinghamshire batsman Andrew Harris at Stamford Bridge Cricket Club
YORKSHIRE resumed on 36 without loss today at Stamford Bridge Cricket Club, where they had let visitors Nottinghamshire off the hook.
On an absorbing first day of the three-day Second X1 Championship, the White Rose ranks - fielding no fewer than nine players with senior experience - had their opponents teetering on on 76-5 and then 122-6.
But Notts dug in deep to post an all out total of 263 led by opener Chris Marsden who was sixth man out on 62.
There was further defiance from Andrew Harris, whose 58 not out was his first half-century of his career, wicketkeeper John Simpson on 44 and Ian Saxelby on 30.
Yorkshire's best bowler was Ben Sanderson with a 4-51 haul from 17 overs.
