LUNCH UPDATE: Yorkshire’s batsmen face a battle to salvage a draw in their LV= County Championship match with Hampshire at Scarborough.
It is after the visitors finally declared during the morning session on the final day with a first-innings lead of 176.
Much of that was down to Jimmy Adams and James Vince, who broke Hampshire’s record for a fourth-wicket partnership during today’s play.
They had put on an unbeaten 278 until the Tykes finally had a wicket to celebrate, when Adams was clean bowled by Steve Patterson for 196.
Vince followed soon after, for 180, before Hampshire declared on 498-6.
Fortunately, Adam Lyth, who is unbeaten on 20, and Jacques Rudolph, who is on seven, made sure that Yorkshire got to lunch unbeaten on 27 for none.
It means that the Tykes are still 149 runs behind Hampshire, with 65 overs remaining on the final day.
