YORKSHIRE'S Specsavers County Championship match against Middlesex at Headingley was been hit by more bad light and rain during the third afternoon.
Only 7.5 overs were bowled before bad light took the players off just before 2pm with the score on 86-2 in reply to 358. The weather then worsened approximately half an hour later, with rain arriving.
It would be something of a surprise if there is any more play today – and an even bigger surprise if this match does not finish in a draw tomorrow.
Ryan Sidebottom removed Nick Compton and Stevie Eskinazi in successive overs as the score fell to 83-2 in the 24th over.
Compton was bowled for 42 as he played down the wrong line against a Sidebottom delivery from over the wicket, before Eskinazi fell to a smart catch low down at third slip by Jack Leaning.
Sam Robson made his way to 35, while Australian overseas batsman Adam Voges is yet to get off the mark.
When play was halted there was still 63 overs scheduled to be bowled in the day.
