SOMERSET are on course for a first Specsavers County Championship win of the season at the eighth attempt at Scarborough.

Yorkshire were under the cosh at tea on day three, with the visitors 140-2 from 50 overs in their second innings and leading by 195.

Openers Marcus Trescothick and Ed Byrom fell this afternoon, for 27 and 40 respectively, caught at second slip off Ben Coad and bowled by Harry Brook – the 18-year-old's maiden first-class wicket.

Yorkshire suffered another injury concern through Liam Plunkett, who only bowled six overs before leaving the field with a groin problem.

That means they now have only three frontline bowlers in Coad, captain Tim Bresnan and Adil Rashid.

Tim Rouse and James Hildreth shared an unbroken stand of 60 inside 17 overs for the third wicket, posting 38 and 31 not out.
