YORKSHIRE have Roses rivals Lancashire under the cosh at Emirates Old Trafford – and Jack Brooks has been their chief tormenter.

Brooks advanced from 94 overnight to 109 not out as the White Rose county declared their first innings on 448-8 during the early stages of the third day.

Then the seamer returned to his job of taking wickets, with Haseeb Hameed bowled being his first of the campaign following a calf injury.

Ryan Sidebottom and Tim Bresnan also struck to leave Lancashire tottering at 39-3 before they reached lunch at 67-3 from 24 overs.

Sidebottom had Liam Livingstone caught at second slip, also his first wicket of the season following injury, and Bresnan got Steven Croft caught at first.

Alex Davies managed to stem the tide somewhat for Lancashire with an unbeaten 39, with Shiv Chanderpaul 10 not out.
