YORKSHIRE are closing in on the maximum of five batting bonus points for reaching 400 inside 110 overs on day four of their Specsavers County Championship Division One match against Surrey at The Oval.
They have progressed this morning from 207-3 overnight, reaching lunch at 330-6 from 97 overs, a lead of 63 with a minimum of 64 overs left today.
Unfortunately, time lost earlier in the game means a draw is almost certain unless the visitors can produce something spectacular with the ball.
Yorkshire have lost three wickets today, two to Zafar Ansari’s left-arm spin and the other to Bradford-born off-spinner Gareth Batty.
Steven Patterson was bowled for 51 and Adil Rashid caught at slip before Batty trapped Tim Bresnan, sweeping, lbw.
Adam Lyth has advanced his 116 not out overnight to 173 not out.
