FOUR afternoon wickets for Steve Patterson have helped Yorkshire forge ahead on day one against Durham at the Riverside.

Durham slipped from 72-2 at lunch to 122-7 and have since advanced to 155-8 from 55 overs at tea.

Patterson trapped Mark Stoneman lbw in the second over after lunch for 45 before getting Michael Richardson caught behind, Paul Collingwood caught at point and Ryan Pringle bowled.

Tim Bresnan had Usman Arshad caught behind before Josh Shaw got Barry McCarthy caught and bowled - his second wicket.

Jack Burnham, dropped on four by Alex Lees at first slip off Shaw in the first over after lunch, will resume this evening on 40.
