STEVE Patterson, Tim Bresnan and Jack Brooks have all picked up a wicket for Yorkshire during the second morning of the Roses clash at Headingley.

Defending 308 all out, the hosts left Lancashire at 59-3 in reply inside 22 overs before they reached lunch at 68-3 from 27 overs.

Yorkshire added seven runs to their total at the start of play before Patterson was caught in the gully off New Zealander Neil Wagner.

Patterson had Tom Smith caught at point for 26 to break a 46-run opening stand inside 15 overs with Haseeb Hameed, who was caught at second slip off Bresnan in the 18th.

Brooks then trapped Luke Procter lbw for six with the first ball of his second spell.

Alviro Petersen and Steven Croft have reached eight and three not out respectively.
