YORKSHIRE have picked up two wickets, but have dropped three catches during an entertaining opening morning of their Specsavers County Championship Division One clash with Surrey at Headingley.
Opener Arun Harinath was dropped three times on the way to 12, eventually being caught at cover by Gary Ballance off Liam Plunkett.
After Surrey opted to toss and won it, Rory Burns was caught behind off David Willey during an impressive start by the bowlers, with the score later slipping to 38-2.
Unfortunately for the champions, they have seen Kumar Sangakkara settle quickly at the crease, with the visitors moving to 96-2 from 32 overs at lunch.
Sangakkara, 45 not out, and Steven Davies (21) have shared 58 unbroken for the third wicket, including 44 from the last 11 overs of the session.
