YORKSHIRE and Leeds Rhinos will next month reveal detailed plans for the renovation of their Headingley Stadium.

The two clubs are set to hold a series of exhibition events in Leeds between February 8 and 15, where they will allow members of the public to consult with the design team in order to help shape the planning application.

The redevelopment will see the current Rugby Stand on the cricket ground side of the stadium redeveloped.

A statement from Yorkshire revealed: “The proposals will create an increased capacity cricket stadium that will offer the highest standards of playing, practice and training facilities, good quality seating and corporate facilities, state of the art technology and media facilities and attractive spaces around the stadium to improve integration with the surrounding Headingley neighbourhood.”

The rugby venue will gain a redeveloped North and South Stand.

Finances for the project will be provided through public and private funding, including both clubs.

The Rhinos rugby league club will provide the majority of the remaining investment through the sale of two nearby sites for housing development, with all of the profits invested into the stadium redevelopment.

There will be five opportunities for public viewings of the plans.

They will take place on Monday, February 8 at Weetwood Hall, Tuesday 9 at Woodkirk Valley Country Club and Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 at Headingley in the Carnegie Cafe. All of those events take place between 4 and 7pm.

The exhibition will remain in the Carnegie Cafe from February 12 to 15, while the feedback period is open until February 16 either in person at the events or through www.hwt-leeds.co.uk
