ADIL Rashid's career could be set for a significant boost after the offer of help from leg-spinning legend Shane Warne.

The Yorkshire leggie is currently with England in the UAE, where he is likely to play a big part in their three-Test match series against Pakistan, starting on Tuesday.

Should Rashid play in the first Test at Abu Dhabi alongside Moeen Ali, it would be the 27-year-old's long-form debut after playing 23 times in one-day and Twenty20 internationals.

Warne has offered to mentor Rashid as he has done with many of the current Australia spinners.

Rashid has credited another Australian, White Rose coach Jason Gillespie, as having a huge influence on his career since taking over at Headingley in 2012.

And, in the past, Rashid has worked with spin guru Terry Jenner, a mentor to Warne during his career.

Rashid also spoke to Warne early in his career whilst the latter was Hampshire captain in 2007, and it could be about to happen again.

"I'd love to work with Rashid if the opportunity arose - 100 per cent," said Warne whilst promoting his upcoming Cricket All-Stars venture in America next month.

"There's been a lot of spinners I've helped over the years, and I'm more than happy to talk to anyone.

"I think in my last year of county cricket, Michael Vaughan, when he was captain of Yorkshire, asked if I could do him a favour and have a chat with Rashid.

"He was pretty young then, but I had a good chat. He's a pretty impressive kid, he's been on the scene a while now. England have done pretty well with Rashid - they haven't rushed him.

"He seems to be bowling pretty well, and it'll be great to see how Alastair Cook handles a leg-spinner.

"It's exciting. Let's hope he grabs his opportunity because it'll be great to see England have a leg-spinner."

Rashid took 29 wickets in seven LV= County Championship matches during the most recent summer as he juggled county action with duties in England's limited overs teams.

He took an encouraging 3-53 from 19 overs during the first day of England's two-day tour match against Pakistan A at Sharjah, which finished yesterday.
