YORKSHIRE will need to defend a target of 264 against Gloucestershire at Headingley in today’s Royal London One-Day Cup semi-final if they are to secure at first Lord’s final since 2002.
The Vikings posted 263-9, which should have been far more following a great start, which included a century partnership from openers Adam Lyth and Alex Lees.
Lyth top-scored with 96 off 88 balls, but he was the first of three wickets to fall for 49 in ten overs as the score slipped from 159-2 to 208-5 in the 39th over and then later to 249-8 in the 47th.
Seamer Benny Howell was the pick of the Gloucestershire bowlers with 3-37 from his ten overs.
In all, Yorkshire lost their last six wickets for 65 inside the last 15 overs.
