GLENN MAXWELL'S maiden Yorkshire century helped the Vikings to an imposing 345-6 at the halfway stage of their Royal London one-day Cup clash with Worcestershire at New Road.
The Australian World Cup passed 50 for the second time in two days after yesterday’s half-century against Surrey at the Oval.
He shared 61 for the second wicket with captain Alex Lees, who made a polished 67, and 105 for the third with Gary Ballance on a true surface.
Maxwell’s 111 off 75 balls including eight fours and four sixes, with former England under 19s seamer Ed Barnard taking three wickets.
Yorkshire’s innings was given late impetus with a 102-run stand inside eleven overs between Jack Leaning, 58 not out, and Adil Rashid (41).
Andrew Gale and Tim Bresnan are missing this clash with a wrist injury and a chest infection respectively. Gale will miss Yorkshire’s next three RL50 matches after this one.
