YORKSHIRE are closing in on an LV= County Championship victory over Nottinghamshire at Headingley.

Notts, who bowled Yorkshire out for 430 in reply to 224 thanks to two more Stuart Broad wickets in the early stages of the third afternoon, reached tea at 108-7 in the 29th over.

Broad finished with 7-84 on his 29th birthday before Ryan Sidebottom struck three times with the new ball. Tim Bresnan later struck twice, while Steve Patterson and Jack Brooks were also in the wickets to leave the visitors reeling.

Sidebottom had openers Brendan Taylor caught at gully for a duck in the first over and Steven Mullaney caught behind in the fifth.

Patterson then trapped Notts captain James Taylor lbw before Bresnan had Riki Wessels caught behind and Michael Lumb lbw for 47 in successive overs - the 22nd and 24th.

Brooks then got Will Gidman caught just in front of square on the leg-side in the 26th before Sidebottom had Samit Patel caught brilliantly at first slip by Alex Lees in the final over of the session.
