Yorkshire lost the wickets of openers Alex Lees and Adam Lyth as well as captain Andrew Gale this afternoon, but their departures have not affected the county’s chances of securing a draw against Somerset at Taunton.

This match will finish in a stalemate later this afternoon, with pitch conditions making it impossible for either side to gain a positive result.

Yorkshire have advanced from 93-0 from 27 overs at lunch to 150-3 in the 56th over at tea - a lead of 47 in their second innings.

Lees was caught behind off Craig Meschede for 47 before Lyth, who brought up his fifty off 120 balls, fell caught at mid-wicket as he top-edged a pull at part-time medium pacer James Hildreth, who claimed only his sixth first-class wicket.

Gale was then caught behind down legside off Alviro Petersen’s off-spin with the first ball of the session’s final over. Kane Williamson is unbeaten on 31.
