THORP Arch & Boston Spa sealed the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League division three title with an easy win at Duncombe Park.
Earlier in the season Park appeared to be strong promotion contenders, but they fell away to finish fourth.
Chris Magee hit 70 in Arch’s 173-9, with Jonathon Leckenby taking 3-45.
Will Bartlett (5-41) then blasted away the early Park batsmen to leave the home side floundering at 44-6. Connor Campbell, aged 15, made 40 but his side were all out for 138.
Relegated Drax picked up only their second win of the season, condemning Goole to the drop.
Drax’s S Smith hit 85 in a useful 208-9 and Rich Ounsley’s 4-38 sealed Goole’s fate as they were bowled out for 201.
Hovingham staved off the threat of relegation with a draw at Malton.
Hovingham’s 207 included 33 by James Forwood and 44 for George Mosey.
Veteran Tony Linsley took 5-59 for Malt.
Forwood then claimed 3-19 as Malton struggled to 119-8, with Des Wyrill hitting 58.
Promoted Hull lost by three runs at New Earswick. The home side posted 207 thanks to Mark Benson (42) and Craig Stimpson (93).
Hull moved to 174-0 but they then lost all ten wickets for 30 runs as Stimpson claimed 4-18 to have them all out for 204.
Scarborough hit 246-6 on the way to beating third-placed Sheriff Hutton by 69 runs.
Sam Hills made 77 not out and Darren Mills hit an unbeaten 64 off only 29 deliveries.
Sheriff’s Geoff Schofield made 63 but his side were all out for 177.
Division four champions Woodhouse Grange went through the season unbeaten after a 153-run win at Pickering to win the division by 124 points.
Jonathon Bean (96) and Matt Hattee (61) starred in Grange’s 258-4.
Pickering lost their first three wickets before a run was scored and although Ryan Boyes hit 58 they only made 105.
Huby got the point they needed at Fenner to avoid relegation, despite losing by nine wickets.
Huby made 134 thanks to Chris Cundall’s 52.
As a result, Heworth were relegated despite winning comfortably at home to Stillington.
Heworth made 184-9 and Stillington were then whipped out for 105, with Nad Sadiq claiming 3-8 and Trevor Walton 3-1.
Sheriff Hutton Bridge finished the division five season in style with a 118-run win at Civil Service.
Selby’s Alex Bowden, 14, took 7-43 to bowl Rowntrees out for 129 and his side secured a five-wicket win thanks to 45 from Neil Wilson.
Huntington’s Tom Shaw hit 107 not out in a defeat to York IV.
