SESSAY legend Brian Flintoff has won the Lifetime Achiever award at the Yorkshire Cricket Board awards.
Opening batsman Flintoff joined the club in 1945 and scored more than 20,000 runs before he retired from playing in 1991. Flintoff has fulfilled many other roles at the club while serving on the committee between 1945 and 2009, including club secretary from 1955 to 1996.
York’s Tony Pawson received the Umpiring and Scoring award for raising the profile of officiating within the county.
Pawson is the York and District Umpires Association’s training officer for the York branch.
The award for Outstanding Coaching Achievement was awarded to Beverley’s Peter Todd, while the George Reah Special Award went to Michael Oldfield, of Sheriff Hutton Bridge.
