HUNTERS York & District Senior League leaders Hull Zingari extended their Division One advantage with victory at Dringhouses.

In a repeat of the earlier meeting between the two, Sam Lingard (74) was his side's top scorer and, with support from Andrew Simpson (38) and Tom Owen (35), the home side scored 230-8.

The visitors' reply was led by Jack Story (97) and, while Matthew Bunn took 3-45, the victory was sealed by an unbeaten 68 from Gary Abdol.

Second-placed Sewerby lost ground after they were left hanging on nine wickets down against Hull and only able to salvage a draw.

The visiting trio of Fergus Wilkinson (66), Martin Watkin (57) and Lawrence Wilkinson (41) helped to build a total of 225-8, which they were able to defend comfortably.

Neither Fergus Wilkinson (3-30) nor Drew Moran (3-42) were able to capture the final wicket which would have given their side a much-needed victory. Nevertheless, they still picked up valuable points in the fight to avoid relegation.

Folkton & Flixton kept up the pressure on the two sides above them by winning at Ripon by 76 runs.

Half-centuries from Tom (56) and Will (76) Norman laid the foundation for the visitors' sixth win in seven matches as they scored 225-9, despite the efforts of Jake Briscombe (4-74) and Ben Crewe (3-43).

Michael Ainsley (69) was top scorer for the home side but wickets from Connor Stephenson (4-46) and Tom Norman (3-29) ensured their side remain in the running for a promotion spot.

Harrogate batsman Cooper Smith picked up where he left off last week by adding 43 not out to his unbeaten half-century against Hull as he and Jonny MacGregor (34no) guided the home side to a four-wicket win against Beverley Town.

Earlier, Ashley Griffin had taken 3-23 as the visitors were bowled out for 150, which included 43 from Robert Fish and 35 by Bradley Graham.

A century from Alex Bowden (117) secured some valuable points for bottom side Selby at Hornsea.

The visitors reached 255-8, with Lee Wild (35) adding to Bowden's effort.

Ashley McKinley took 3-58 for the home side and also scored 51 in the reply but, despite an unbeaten century from Jon Fisher (105no), they were forced to settle for a share of the points, closing on 231-7, which included wickets from Rich Sherwood (3-41).

In the day's other match, Heworth narrowly missed out on victory against Knaresborough at Aspin Lane.

The home side's last-wicket pair were at the crease by the close, still 19 runs short of the visitors' total of 188-6.
