HUNTERS York & District Senior League division one leaders Hull Zingari remain on course for an immediate return to the premier division after they won by 25 runs to dent Knaresborough's hopes of promotion in their first season in the competition.

Meanwhile, an excellent all-round performance from Sam Wragg ensured the match between bottom club Selby and second-placed Sewerby went to form.

Selby were bowled out for 161, Wragg taking 5-21 and Steve Janney 3-34, and the contest might have been over much quicker had it not been for Alex Bowden (76) and Matthew Hoyle (45).

As it was, Sewerby wasted little time chasing down the total inside 25 overs, with Nick Gibson making 42 and Wragg (93no) just missing out on a century

The match between hosts Folkton & Flixton and Hornsea ended tantalisingly poised, with the sides separated by just six runs with the home side's last pair at the wicket.

Chris Charles top-scored with 69 in the visitors' 235-9, which included five wickets from Jamie Nesfield (5-38).

Half-centuries from both Matt Nesfield (63) and Will Norman (56) helped set up a thrilling climax, and Ashley McKinley finished with 3-58 when play ended with both sides left wondering what might have happened had play gone on for just a couple more overs.

Despite being separated by four places, there was little to choose between the sides at Norwood Park as defeat by two wickets in a low-scoring match left hosts Beverley Town in the relegation places.

Richard Cole took 4-38 and George Wilson 3-26 as Town reached 121-9, but unfortunately for the home side it was not enough as, despite three wickets from Matthew Saint, visitors Dringhouses sneaked home with eight wickets down.

Ripon climbed out of the bottom three with a 56-run victory over Heworth at Elm Park Way.

A half-century from Ben Crewe (57) and an unbeaten 61 from Mike Ainsley were among the highlights as the visitors scored 219-6, Alex Bell finishing with his side's best bowling figures of 3-45.

Crewe then starred with ball in hand, finishing with 3-23 as he and Paul Ainsley (3-36) helping to bowl out the home side for 163, despite 42 from Joel Johnson and 31 from Neil Martin.

An unbroken stand between Will Topham (83no) and Cooper Smith (54no) carried Harrogate to a seven-wicket win over Hull, despite being asked to chase 212.

Earlier, Joe Hewitt (83) and Chris Lound (45) had helped build that total, while Cameron O'Donnell (3-46) did all he could to limit the pair's gains.
