DESPITE being denied victory by Heworth's last-wicket pair, Hull Zingari remain in pole position for an immediate return to the Hunters York & District Senior League Premier Division as they still top the Division One table by 33 points.

Hosts Heworth looked to be in with a chance of upsetting the visitors as Matthew Huffer (3-24) and Steve Lawrence (3-45) shared six wickets, the leaders only making 190 thanks to a half-century from Matthew Bunn, and he was then on hand to take three wickets when the home side replied with 163-9.

Knaresborough made it three wins from four games, beating Selby at Aspin Lane by seven wickets.

Elliott Precious (54) top-scored for the visitors, who were bowled out for 136, Tom Metcalfe taking 4-23.

The home side reached their target off just 38 overs, thanks to a half-century from Dave Girling and 47 not out from Martin Revill.

George Wilson (3-35) and Tom Storr (3-39) finished with three wickets each as promotion-chasing Sewerby were bowled out for 110 at Dringhouses.

That came in reply to the home side's 163, where Gary Wilson was stranded one short of a half-century, but the consolation of a victory which saw his side move up two places to sixth may have made up for it.

Tom Norman produced a match-winning performance for Folkton & Flixton as they beat Beverley Town by eight wickets.

He took 3-38 and, alongside Harry Walmsley (4-34), helped dismiss the visitors for 147, despite 46 from John Vodden and 41 not out from James Emery, and then scored 56, setting up the victory which Will Norman (52no) saw to its conclusion with an unbeaten half-century of his own.

The match between Hornsea and Harrogate produced two individual centuries and over 600 runs.

Teenager Eitan Litvin made 131 for Harrogate with the visitors' 326-7 also including runs from Jordan Marshall (41), Ashley Griffin (38) and Ben Bartlett (34no).

Ashley McKinley finished with 4-73, and it was he who led the home side's response, making 121 from 280-5, with Richard Medforth (55) and Mark Battye (57no) both posting half-centuries in support of the all-rounder.

Hull won for only the second time this season, with Laurence Wilkinson playing a key role.

His innings of 40 was the top score in a total of 175-8 as Ben Crewe took 5-29 for hosts Ripon. Mike Ainsley responded with 56, but Wilkinson set up the 39-run victory by taking 5-23.
