HUNTERS York & District Senior League Premier Division leaders Sessay extended their lead over their nearest rivals with a seven-wicket win against York.

The visitors were indebted to Ian Jarvis, who made 73 out of their 199-9, but Matthew Till set the hosts on the way to extending their four-match unbeaten run before an unbroken fourth- wicket stand between Joe Watson (84no) and Nick Harrison (37no) secured the points.

Two sides chasing an immediate return to Yorkshire League North met as Dunnington played host to Castleford, and it was the visitors who enhanced their chances, despite just missing out on maximum points.

Connor (60no) and Liam Hyde (63) were both in the runs as the away side reached 214-7, with George Drury taking 3-41.

Eddie Morrison replied with 4-29 and Liam Hyde completed a memorable all-round performance by taking 3-42 but the home side hung on for a share of the points, thanks to Jack Spofforth's unbeaten half-century.

Studley Royal took advantage of Dunnington's slip to climb above them to third with a 37-run victory over bottom-of-the-table Goole Town.

Michael Linsley (7-21) and Jack Charters (3-43) set up a comfortable victory for Malton & Old Malton against Pickering, the success over their local rivals enabling them to climb out of the bottom two for the first time this season.

There were also five catches for wicket-keeper Gary Hall as the home side made just 88.

Shaun Harland then guided the visitors to only their second league win of 2017 with 46 not out.

Danny White took 3-37 for the visitors, who went on to win by three wickets, Greg Whyley (50) and Brad Dobson (38) both making solid contributions.

The day's closest finish came at Kings Mill Road, with Driffield Town winning off the penultimate ball of the final over against Whitkirk.

Mark Murphy (83) and Shaun Pickles (58) help the visitors set what looked to be a stiff target of 252-8, Jordan Caley being the pick of the Town bowlers with 3-49.

Simon Webb (4-66) took most of the seven wickets to fall in the hosts' reply but a solid response from the batting line-up contained a half-century from Harry Burnhill (55) and further contributions from Kevin Woodcock (41) and Kelvin Walker (35) before Harvey Dixon sealed the points, finishing on 47 not out.
