STUDLEY Royal were the only one of the top four in the Hunters York & District Senior League to take maximum points, but their gains were limited as their title rivals all secured winning draws.

Leaders Sessay were denied victory by Beverley Town's last-wicket pair, with Tommy Hudson finishing unbeaten on 85 and Ollie Grantham contributing 44 to their 195-9 as Stephen Langstaff finished with 5-50.

That was in reply to the hosts' 215-8, which included 82 from Jacob Spencer and a half-century from Tim Hall (52), while Kieran Thompson took 5-49.

It was a similar story at Savile Park, where Driffield Town hung on at 168-9 in reply to Castleford's 238-9.

George Swaby (61) and Liam Hyde (56) both scored half-centuries for the home side and David Wainwright made 42 as Oliver West (4-24) and Jordan Caley (3-68) shared seven wickets.

There were three each for Wainwright (3-39) and Eddie Morrison (3-48) but the final wicket eluded them, with Kelvin Walker top-scoring for the visitors with 44.

Jake Murphy (38) top scored and was one of four visiting batsmen to reach 30 and, despite none of them going further, Dunnington's 249-7 proved too much for Bolton Percy.

They reached 198-8 by the close, with Alistair Rigby making 50 and Andy Ferguson 38.

The result leaves Dunnington just six points off the promotion places as they seek an immediate return to the Premier League.

Dan Craven's produced the day's finest performance with the ball, taking 7-32 as Pickering were bowled out for 95 at Galphy Road.

It secured hosts Studley Royal victory by 67 runs after they themselves had been bowled out for 162, with Kieran Bowes finishing with 4-31.

The home side's Rob Mackle made light of the difficult batting conditions to make 62 – more than twice as many as any other batsman on either side.

The competition's bottom two lost further ground in the fight to retain their Premier Division status, with both suffering defeat on the road.

Malton & Old Malton went down by six wickets at Whitkirk, for whom Simon Webb turned in an excellent all-round performance, taking 4-55 to partner Michael O'Brien (5-54) as the visitors were all out for 199, with Tom Bumby making 50.

Webb (97) then just missed out on a century, and Sam Parker (49no) finished just short of his fifty, but their efforts secured a comfortable victory.

Bottom side Goole Town lost for the fourth week in a row, with their latest defeat coming by five wickets at Shipton Road.

Ben Earl made 50 but Matthew Hodsdon (4-35) and Oliver Leedham (3-35) helped limit the visitors to 168-8.

Joe Ashdown led the York reply with 58 and Alex Collins added 49, with Sam Earl (4-63) taking four of the five wickets to fall.
