SHERIFF Hutton Bridge II and Pannal continue to set the pace in Galtres Division Two with both making short work of run chases.

Visiting Osbaldwick opted to bat against Bridge and posted a competitive 219-5 with Matt Dunne (47) and James Hattee (36) supporting skipper Matt Hattee’s 92 from 80 balls.

Nadeem Shefta was the pick of the hosts' bowlers with 3-24 but the total was never enough as Bridge lost only one wicket in going past the figure, thanks to a 180 partnership between Paul Oldfield (74no) and Dave Bradshaw (120no).

Pannal made it five wins from five completed games against Stillington. They were soon in trouble thanks to Chris Henry’s 3-17 and, at one stage, were 56-6 before a recovery, led by Ben Drummond (57), moved the total to 176-9.

However, the Ellis brothers steered their side to the total in 26 overs with Rob Ellis out for 53 and Andy Ellis unbeaten on 112.

Closely following the leading pack are Thorp Arch & Boston Spa and Sessay II who beat Hovingham and drew with Bilton in Ainsty respectively.

Bilton made 211-9 (Ben Aked 76, Rob Wilson 50no) with James Skelton and Lee Margerison both picking up three wickets for Sessay.

In response, Margerison made 74, supported by John Flintoff (45), but Sessay were restricted to 199-8, mainly thanks to Graham Hutchison (6-24).

New Earswick are still searching for their first win as 186-6 was not enough at Duncombe Park.

Tom Hewer (71) top-scored for the visitors supported by L Witcher’s unbeaten 46.

Park reached the target for the loss of six wickets with Brian Leckenby (32) and Alex Medd (30no) taking the 30 points for the home team.

Tadcaster Magnets made 250-2 against Thirsk thanks to Richard Grogan (142no) who found great support from Phil Smith (80no).

Thirsk achieved a draw at 214-8 thanks to Harry Collinson (59), Stuart Christon (47) and Ross McAndrew (43no).

In Division Three, the form of Knaresborough II and Rowntrees & Huntington continued as both recorded comfortable victories.

Batting first at Osbaldwick II, Knaresborough found opposition skipper Andy Hall in miserly form with 3-13 from 12 overs. The visitors were indebted to Henry Perham (34) and David Artendale (76) in their total of 173-6.

In response, Alex Gates (3-6) caused big problems for Osbaldwick, who were bowled out for 98, with only Nigel Rippon (35) and Ed Baldwin (24) in double figures.

Heworth III had little answer to the bowling of Rowntrees & Huntington (Dan Waterworth 4-13, Tom Shaw 4-25) and were bowled out in the 33rd over for 98 (John Draper 26).

R&H surpassed that for the loss of only one wicket (Tom Shaw 27no, Paul Horner 58no)

Wetherby enjoyed a 102-run victory at home to York IV.

Easingwold II moved up to fifth with a winning draw at Woodhouse Grange.

Mark Cosgrave’s 133 was the stand-out performance in Easingwold’s 222-7 with Luke Bailey (3-21) performing admirably with the ball.

Woodhouse were never in the hunt and finished on 132-6 (Des Wyrill 60 no).

New Earswick were in trouble at 8-3 against Tadcaster Magnets II until Stu Masheder (110no) and Craig Stimpson (108) added 226 for the fourth wicket, lifting the total to 264-4.

In response, Magnets were bowled out for 126 (R Lowe 53) with Jacob Stimpson-Rooke (3-8) and John Routledge (4-24).

Huby made 201-7 at home to Sheriff Hutton thanks to Ed Wright (36), Dan Grainger (33) and Max Lord (39).

Sheriff Hutton closed on181-8.

TABS II continued their great start in Division Four making 258-4 against visitors Duncombe Park II, underpinned by a 164-run second-wicket partnership between Dale Gibson (94) and Jim Riley (75).

Duncombe Park were reduced to 126-9 thanks to Rob Williams (3-26) but the last-wicket pair of David Dunn and Bev Nicholson managed to hold out, adding 25 runs for the last wicket to close on 151-9.

Huby II completed a comfortable win at Stillington II who were bowled out for 64 (Richard Wentworth 5-22).

Dan Hardy (41no) led the response for Huby who achieved their target in the 16th over for the loss of two wickets.

Copmanthorpe II put on 195-8 against visiting Dringhouses II thanks to Nick Winstanley (70 no) and Roy Atkinson (32).

Dringhouses were bowled out for 129 (Adam Mosley 5-24).

Heslington II picked up 30 points as Sheriff Hutton II were unable to fulfil the fixture.
