ALEX Bowden's second ton in six days was not enough to secure a first win of the season for bottom club Selby as they went down by eight wickets at Sewerby in division one of the Hunters York & District Senior League.

The opener followed up Monday's 109 against Hull Zingari with an unbeaten 117 as the visitors made 211-8, Gareth Roberts chipping in with 45 as Andy Smith finished with 4-24 for the home side.

Leaders Sewerby were handed the perfect start by Lyndon Warcup (93) and Sam Wragg (71), the pair putting on 155 for the opening wicket before Nick Gibson saw them over the line with 35 not out.

Hull Zingari, who began the season so brightly with four straight victories, have now not won in four, and their latest defeat at the hands of newcomers Knaresborough means the two swap places, with Zingari dropping to third.

In a tight contest, the home side, chasing 188-9, made it with their final pair at the crease.

Ben Kempley, making only his second appearance of the season for Harrogate, made 114 as the home side scored a mammoth 387-8 at St George's Road.

Jordan Marshall contributed 70 and Will Parker 43, Lawrence Wlikinson emerging with some credit with figures of 3-44, but Ryan Naylor (3-88) bore the brunt, with his three wickets coming at twice the cost.

However, the visitors refused to succumb faced with such a stiff task and reached 202-6 by the close, Ben Wilkinson having made 59 and Fergus Wilkinson an unbeaten 55.

Anthony Stones hit the day's third century as Folkton & Flixton overcame Hornsea by nine wickets.

His innings of 132 not out provided the majority of the visitors' 194-1, which also included an unbeaten 45 from Matthew Dandy.

That was in response to the hosts' 189-9, which featured 83 from Ashley McKinley.

Sam Lingard had a day to remember as he produced a match-winning all-round performance for Dringhouses against Beverley Town.

He led the home sides attack, taking 4-41 as the visitors were bowled out for 124, Tom Owen (3-41) and Tom Storr (3-10) being the other wicket takers, while Alan Acklam provided the only notable resistance with 56.

Lingard then remained unbeaten on 66 as, alongside Chris Evans (46no), he saw the side home for the loss of just one wicket.

The game at Ripon, where Heworth were the visitors, was an equally low-scoring affair.

Josh Blades (4-21) and Ben Crewe (3-21) reduced the away side to 114 all out.

Crewe (33no) then saw his side to an eight-wicket win, with Robert Taylor also making 33.
