YORKSHIRE's Jack Leaning presented the prizes at York Cricket Club's Junior Section Annual Awards evening.

Chairman Nigel Durham hailed the season as one of 'outstanding success' for all the club's junior age groups however, the Under-13s coached by

Mark Burn and assistant Mick Hammerton were, unsurprisingly, awarded 'Junior Team of the Year' after phenomenal success at District, Regional and National level.

They not only won a 'quadruple' of District Trophies ('A' Team League, District Championship, Plate Shield, and 6-a-Side) but also achieved unprecedented success in the County and, subsequently, National ECB Knockout competitions.

Reaching the Yorkshire County Finals day, after a quarter-final win at Driffield, they beat Harrogate in the semi-final and Barnsley in the final to be crowned Yorkshire County champions.

Victories against the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire County champions took them to the North of England final and the title of North of England champions after victory over the Scottish champions Grange CC.

They then progressed to the ECB National Finals day at Rugby School but lost in the semifinal to Kent, the South East champions.

York's Under 9s section lost in the League Championship Final.

The Under 11s section enjoyed success in both 'Hardball' and 'Incrediball'. The 'A' team were unbeaten throughout the season and recorded a League and Cup 'double'. The 'B' team were Division Two Hardball champions and the Incrediball team finished mid-table and lost in the Cup final.

The Under 15s 'A' team struggled for consistency, just failing to reach the Championship play-offs but the 'B' team won their league and became the first Under 15 B tea, to qualify for the Championship.

Victory in the semi-final took them to the District Final where they lost to Woodhouse Grange. The 'A' Team found form in the District Cup and beat Woodhouse Grange in the final
