DRINGHOUSES won, became divisional champions and earned themselves promotion to division one of the Hunters York & District Senior League after an emphatic 10-wicket home win over Hemingbrough.

The St Helens Road based club have lead Ebor division two for most of the season and were set on their way when Tom Owen bagged 6-19 including a hat-trick to help reduce Hemingbrough to 60 all out.

In the second half, Andrew Simpson was unbeaten on 38 as Dringhouses reached 63-0 to win the title.

Scarborough II’s all out 139 at Yapham was not enough as the home side chased down the target for the loss of seven wickets. Charlie Roberts scored 36 for Scarborough whilst Mike Newhouse was again amongst the wickets for Yapham with 5-22.

James Fletcher hit an unbeaten 109 for Acomb II at Pickering II but still ended up on the losing side as Tom Croot grabbed 5-49 to restrict the visitors to 192-7.

Led principally by Ian Smith (46) and Joe Harland (41), Pickering had just one wicket remaining as they crossed the line to gain full points.

Malton & Old Malton skipper Tom Audsley top scored with 85 as his side racked up 186-10 at home to Heworth II who fell somewhat short of the required target when they bowled out for 136.

Greg Drewery was top scorer for Londesborough Park in their first innings 168-9 declared at home to Clifton Alliance II (144-10).

Matt Phillips (44) and Simon Corley (32) were in the runs for Clifton, but wickets from Ciaran Brooke (3-24) helped the home side to a 24-run victory.

Russell Bowry (110*) hit an unbeaten ton for York III as they weighed in with 213-8 at home to Carlton Towers, for whom Mark Holmes took 3-60. Despite 32 from skipper Rob Holah, and 57 from Darren Graves, York bowler Graham MacFall bagged 5-29 to bowl out Carlton for 200.

Ripon (175-3) came out as winners and took the Galtres division two title in the clash between the top sides at Pannal.

Batting first, Pannal were restricted to 174-6 with Rob Ellis top scoring with 64, and Andy Ellis supporting with 44.

However, the match-winning performance came from Ripon's Rob Taylor (84*) whose valuable runs were the cornerstone to the visitor’s title winning seven-wicket victory.

Richard Swann (69) and Tom Lund (50) were amongst the runs for Hovingham at Easingwold II as the visitors set the home side a target of 250-9 to beat. Charlie Prest (5-11) was amongst the wickets as Easingwold were dismissed for 104.

Mark Jackson hit 110 for Sessay II (224-5) as they successfully chased down the 223 posted by visiting Sheriff Hutton Bridge II for whom Harry Sutcliffe had earlier top scored with 77.

Josh Howes (45), Mark Cook (33), and skipper Keiran Fenwick (33) were all amongst the runs as Thirsk posted 197-7 on their way to a 45-run win at home to Duncombe Park (149-10).

Brian Leckenby hit 30 and Peter Kent 38 in the second innings, but Stuart Christon (4-30) and James Wilkinson (3-28) took vital wickets to see Thirsk home to victory.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa enjoyed a six-wicket win at home to Wetherby. Batting first, Wetherby racked up 159-10, but had to settle for second best as George Gibson’s 57 was the foundation to TABS winning 160-4.

Woodhouse Grange II (203-9) recorded a one-wicket win at home to Tadcaster Magnet (202-10) with Robert Daniel the architect of their victory with 92.

In Ebor division three. Simon Baty hit 52 for Pocklington II at Goole Town II as his side posted an all-out 137 after Danny Cooper had taken 3-35. Cooper then starred with the bat as he hit 70 in Goole’s (139-6) winning score.

Adam Sutcliffe was the star man for Dunnington II as they firmed up the second promotion place with a comprehensive 247-run win at home to Civil Service.

Batting first, the home were led by Sutcliffe who hit a colossal 159 in his Dunnington’s 311-5. Jay Snowden (3-13) and Jack Spofforth (3-19) were amongst the wickets as the visitors were shot out for 64 in 30 overs.

Castleford II (126-1) beat Selby II (125-9) by nine wickets at Savile Park thanks in main to Nathan Smith who top scored with 65 for the home side as they grabbed maximum points. Graham Phillips was unbeaten on 75 for Selby in the first innings.

Salman Syed hit 55 for Copmanthorpe as they posted 163-7 at home to Whitkirk II to earn the best of a draw. Alistair Byers took 3-24 in the Whitkirk innings to help restrict them to 124-8, with Stuart Pickles having a good all-round game with 41 and 3-25.

Galtres division three champions New Earswick comfortably beat York IV at White Rose Avenue.

The home side posted 188-9 with Paul Stimpson top scoring with an unbeaten 35. Sam Backhouse weighed in with 4-32 for York.

Dave Scott, on loan from New Earswick top scored for York with 29 as Martyn Hewitson took 3-36 to help bowl out the visitors for 94.

Huby moved up to third place following their 131-run home win over Woodhouse Grange III.

Dringhouses II set hosts Civil Service II 233-10 to chase down after Lewis Chipchase (61) had top scored and Phil Northing had weighed in with 5-58 for the home side.

However, despite Jim Reynolds contributing 42, runs were scarce with Civil Service falling well short at 134-10 and a 99-run win for the visiting side.

Steve Crowder hit an unbeaten 107 for Stillington as they posted 239-4 at home to Sheriff Hutton. The home side came out winners by 96 runs with the travelling side being bowled out for 143.

Richard Taylor’s unbeaten 80 helped Tadcaster II (191-5) chase down the 190-8 set by Heworth III in their five-wicket home win.

Ebor division four champions Drax had a comprehensive 169-run win at home to Bolton Percy II after Ben Worley (75*) had been the foundation to their 226-7.

After the tea interval the visitors collapsed to 57 all out with Darren Brinded bagging an impressive 6-9.

Matthew Bentley hit 67 for Thorp Arch & Boston Spa II in their first innings 158-9 at North Duffield, who then collapsed to 96 all out. Andrew Heaps took 4-33 for TABS.

Cawood batsman Nasir Shefta’s 64 was the main difference between Woodhouse Grange IV (151-8) and Cawood’s winning 152-7 at Sandhill Lane.

Sheriff Hutton II (117-2) came away from Hovingham II (113-10) with an eight-wicket win in Galtres division four, thanks in the main to Neil Fairweather’s all-round performance taking 4-29 with the ball, and hitting 50 with the bat.

Champions Osbaldwick II ended the season with a 234-run win at Duncombe Park II. Pete Machin (67) top scored in Osbaldwick’ s all out 234, and then in the second half James Jacques took 4-33 to help reduce Duncombe Park to 100 all out.
